Hey guys I'm back!

Busy weekend.
Had a great time at Sijun's BBQ event. All helping me with Mikaela and I can eat in peace. Hope she like her pressie from Val,Jess and me.
Also went to Elise 1st Birthday celebration. This sweet little girl is one already, so fast!

Alright. Back to the topic I promised. Wedding preparation.

The first thing you must have in mind is your budget. Know your budget, in this way you won't overspend. Once you got a estimated amount, planning will be easier. Cause you won't be looking at things that is NOT within your budget. Instead, you will be looking at nice and pretty stuff that is all within your budget. And you will have all these nice and pretty little things on your wedding day without having a hole in your pocket.

Next up. You can start searching for your perfect wedding bands and wedding gown!
It's not tough finding your perfect wedding bands. You got the design in mind, got the estimated amount of money you wanna spend on your wedding bands, and that's it! That easy. Just keep going to the jewelry shop, do not even skip one, cause you won't know maybe the ones you like is in there!
Bridal package.
I took my wedding photoshoot at JB. Why at JB? I wanna save money and at the same time i want nice and pretty photos! Let me tell you, the bridal studio at JB also can be as good as the one in Singapore. Their standard not bad okay! Plus, you get to save quite alot. I managed to save at least 2k. The bridal studio is call Venus Bridal Selection. Their service is really good too!
So what do you want in your bridal package? There's no need to ask. As much as possible...the best is everything! Try to tell them what you want, negotiate with them, do not be shy!
My bridal package:
- 1 set of Wedding gown
- 2 set of evening dresses
- 1 set of KUA for tea ceremony
- 2 set of suit and pants
- 1 Maid of honor dress
- Accessories for the bride
- Indoor photoshoot
- 1 large wedding photo banner
- 1 large wedding photo frame
- 2 medium size wedding photo frame
- 1 large wedding album
- 1 medium wedding album
- 1 small wedding album
- 4R wedding photos + envelope for the guest ( I forgot the amount for this)
- 1 whole set of wedding car decorations.
Their website is : http://www.venusbridal.com.my/

Wedding dinner venue. Any hotel that you prefer will be good. After calculations, everything within your budget and the ballroom + food menu + wedding package is to your liking, then go for it. (The tough part is when you start to plan the seating for your guest.)
Park Royal Hotel on Beach Road is my choice. Not bad I can say! You can have a list of all the hotel wedding banquet with their cost and everything on this website: www.singaporebrides.com

Church event.
This is optional. I'm a Christian, so I've got the ceremony at my own church. Just contact the church staff and your own pastor, coordinate with them and that's it. Not to forget to get your own church deco. Ribbons and flowers and balloons. I got mine from www.adamevestyle.com

Finding your own MUA and photographer.
Some people got their MUA included in the bridal package. As my bridal package is from JB, I prefer to get my own MUA here in Singapore. Easier for them, people no need to travel to Singapore from JB. My MUA is from my church, she's one of my Mother's friend daughter.
Photographer on AD. I'm just lucky. My brother's friend is a photographer. Got myself a photographer without any fuss.

You see, If you got friends like that, you can approach them to help you. It will be easier for you. 自己人,好办事.

Next up! Planning your AD schedule Do you want a full day or separate day. Mine is a full day, from morning till midnight.
This is my actual day schedule. (Just an example for people who might need it.)
4am - Mask and wash up.
5am - MUA start makeup. Dress up.
6am- Groom and brothers arrived. Start Gate crash.
7am - Outdoor shoot @ Hort Park.
9am - Tea Ceremony
11am - Church ceremony (Optional base on your religion.)
1pm - Rest and pack up.
3pm - Check in hotel.
4pm - Last check on ballroom, reception area, and emcee for the night.
5pm - Dress up and make up.
6pm - Light dinner for bride and groom.
7pm - Touch up make up. Groom is to go down to entertain guest at reception area.
715pm - Bride is to be at reception area.
8pm SHARP - Dinner start.
1030pm/11pm - Dinner end.

Lastly, all the small little things left.

If you got a ceremony at the church, you will need to order food for your guest after the ceremony end. Very easy, buffet is the best. Of course you will need to tell them it's for a wedding, so the buffet set up and deco will be nicer!
Also not to forget the church invitation cards, cover page and ring pillow! How can we just exchanged ring without a ring pillow! I got the stuff from the Bras Basah Complex. They got some Christian store over there.
Wedding dinner invitation cards will be provided by the hotel, no need to worry at all. Oh, and I love the food tasting. I love choosing food!

Guo Da Li.
Can't help much in this.Cause my brother help me with this. I just asked him to provide me with the list and then hubby and I will go buy everything. I am a Cantonese, so we will need a Guo Da Li basket filled with different type of seafood, wine, oranges...etc. Not to forget boxes of pastry. And also a 1 whole roasted pig.

Next, here comes the discussion with your brothers and sisters on AD.
Discuss on dress code and other things that you will need them to help you with on your big day. Also not to forget, the corsages for the sisters!

So ya, that's about it. I hope I don't miss out anything. If there's anything you would like to ask, feel free to text me on fb, twitter or iMessage. (My HP is down!)

Goodnight!

So yesterday, I meet up with Suzanne for steamboat! Craving satisfied. (:
Hubby join us after work and we walk around Bugis. Nothing much. Cause I've got nothing to shop for.

July is a busy month. Especially this week. 19th July Thursday, The Dark Knight Rises - movie date with hubby. 20th July Friday, Sijun's Birthday BBQ. 21st July Saturday, mummy yeetze's precious Elise 1st Birthday celebration. 22nd July Sunday, my brother's Birthday. Very packed weekend!

August is slightly better. There's only flat selection day and darling Jessica's 21st Birthday party.

Yes, hubby and I will be having our own love nest. Close friends should know the area I am selecting cause I don't wanna disclose here. Just in case only. I do not want uninvited people knocking on my front door next time. Well even if they really do so,I will not open the door. Easy.

Hoping that everything will be done before Christmas. Mummy also hope that we can celebrate Christmas at our new house. So ya, all my darlings out there you know who you are, leave your Christmas week available please!

Past few months until now. There are few friends that asked me how do I plan for my own wedding in a short period of time. wedding preparation is not easy. Yes stress stress and more stress because you want everything to be perfect on your big day. So, I'm gonna reveal how I did it for my next update ya.

Look out for my next post! (:

Hello!

Been so busy lately due to some problems at home. But everything is fine now, I know my family and I will be able to overcome all the problems. Just keep praying! Thank God for everything! Amen!

Hubby is back to his salon life...just 2 weeks back. He seems to be coping well. That's great. The working hours is not too bad, at least there's some free time for him at home after work.

Mikaela is 16 months old now. Time flies. It just seems like yesterday that I give birth to her...So tiny, but look at her now all grown up!
When I think back, it's not so tough afterall. It's all the waiting that is making me so nervous!
My EDD was 1st April 2011. (April fool day?!) My waterbag burst on the 8th of March 2011. Lucky I just had my lunch. So I packed my bag for hospital stay and a baby bag for mikaela. Dad and Mum drove me to the hospital. Hubby just book out from camp when I called, he's so excited that he told his camp mates that his wife is giving birth soon! LOL! So he rushed down to the hospital. Register everything and they let me wait in the delivery suite.
Hubby reached and came in to my delivery suite, while mum and dad went home to prepare the baby room for me. Everyone was so excited!
So, I went in the hospital around 6pm plus evening. But I do not have any contraction. Then the waiting begin...the delivery suite is kinda spacious with one bed and one big sofa. Only one person is allow to come in, which is hubby. I'm on the bed, hubby's on sofa. We had small chats and watched tv together. Yes of course, there's a small tv for entertainment.
It's getting late around 12 midnight plus. Hubby fall asleep on the sofa, but my contraction came. Contractions was bearable when it first started. Then the nurse came to set up some devices. I tried to distract myself by watching tv,but the tv was showing some horror movie. I am not suppose to watch any horror movies when I am preggie, so I switched channel. The other channels won't help, showing some boring movies.
As time pass, the contractions are happening more often. From 5 minutes one time, to every 1 to 3 minutes one time. From 3am onwards, the contraction is getting unbearable. I let out small little cries and hubby woke up. But soon he fell asleep again. Well, he can't help much, all he can do is to tell me to relax, hold my hands and to bear with the pain. The nurses came to check on me every 3 hours.
Was so scare and nervous. Beside having strong contractions, i also hear screaming coming from other delivery suites. The other mummies in labour! Contractions became so strong that I start to inhale Nitrous Oxide on mask. We call that laughing gas. Was told that I should not inhale too much, but I have no choice that I inhale the laughing gas till I feel all drowsy so as to distract myself from the pain.Anyway, I just find that the laughing gas doesn't help much during my labour.
I decided to take epidural around 7am plus. I give up. I need something to ease my pain immediately and effectively. That is the epidural. I wanted to go into labour without epidural, but I just can't stand it anymore.
The epidural is amazing. After a few minutes, I don't feel any contraction pain at all. But the side effect sucks. I was shivering. Shivering like crazy, it's just normal room temperature, but I shiver as if it's snowing in my room.
9th March 2011, Noon time, I gave birth to Mikaela. Natural delivery, so proud of myself. Immediately after the delivery, Mikaela and I get to have some skin to skin bonding. They carried Mikaela and place her on my chest so that I can hug her. I cried...tears of joy. The feeling is so amazing.
Was feeling so hungry after that. So they get me lunch. I vomitted. My legs were numb. I can't even move my legs. Because of the epidural, my lower body cannot move. Need to wait a few hours to let the epidural effects to be gone. So they carried me down to the wheelchair and we went down to the normal ward.

See, its not so scary after all. The key is to bear with the pain. That's all!

Shall blog again soon! (:
